A Letter From The President
In last year’s newsletter I wrote of expenses exceeding income. I am happy to report that we were able to cut costs to fit into income. We are not talking of a dues increase. Due to efforts by our Treasurer, we have renegotiated several contracts and collected outstanding dues as well as cutting other expenses to live within our budget. Board members have worked to find other ways to decrease expenses.
One of the cost cutting efforts is establishing a grounds and repair committee, chaired by our Treasurer. The workload is very simple, so we are asking the men and women of Huronia Heights to volunteer to help with the easy work projects around the Association grounds. Installing the new speed limit signs are the type of work we will be doing. We don’t expect to be working much on the committee and you can volunteer as much or little as you want. Come out and meet your neighbors and help with programs. You may contact this committee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Last year we did not receive any notices to close our beaches but the system doesn’t post until after the weekends, so we are looking for a way to receive faster notices and find a way to notify the homeowners.
The Vice-President and myself have been working with the County to do a better job of grading our roads.
With all of our activities we are attempting to make this a more friendly community and know and watch out for our neighbors. Other fun events that are a way to meet your neighbors are the golf cart parade, and family picnic.
The membership can contact any board member for concerns as our addresses are all published in this newsletter. Please drop a note off to their houses with your concern and a way to communicate with you. You are always come to our board meetings.
We have started to work on a website so you can keep up with the latest news and communicate with the board. The website is wwww.HuroniaHeights.com.
The revised Bylaws Book is now available online. The Bylaws Book can also be obtained at the General or Annual Meeting. Click here to download >
